Selecting industrial equipment starts with understanding how it will operate. PETROVEX reviews project requirements, equipment information and available documentation to establish a clear basis for equipment selection, enquiries and the evaluation of manufacturer proposals.
Our engineering services cover equipment and components for oil, gas, refining and petrochemical applications, with the scope tailored to each enquiry.
Incomplete information or differing interpretations of technical requirements can make it difficult to compare proposals and make purchasing decisions. An engineering review identifies key requirements, unresolved questions and items requiring approval before an order is finalised.
At PETROVEX, operating conditions, equipment specifications and project constraints are assessed together so that proposed options can be evaluated against the actual application.
Scope of Engineering Services
We review the stated requirements, equipment application and available information to establish the initial technical requirements and identify any additional data needed. Depending on the equipment, this may include capacity, pressure, temperature, process fluid, materials of construction, and installation and operating conditions.
Proposed options are assessed against operating conditions and project requirements. For replacement equipment, we also review the existing unit’s specifications, dimensions and relevant connections to identify factors affecting technical compatibility.
Datasheets, catalogues and submitted documents are reviewed for completeness, consistency and compliance with the stated requirements. Queries and discrepancies are identified for clarification or technical approval.
Material take-offs (MTOs) are prepared or reviewed using the available documentation and within the agreed scope. Item descriptions, quantities, specifications and reference information are organised to provide a clearer basis for enquiries and purchasing.
Submitted proposals are compared against the requested specifications. Deviations, exceptions, missing documentation and points requiring manufacturer clarification are identified to support a documented, traceable technical comparison.
Deliverables
Depending on the enquiry and agreed scope, engineering deliverables may include:
Deliverables, the basis of review and the limits of responsibility are defined at the start of the engagement.
We receive the description of the requirement or issue, equipment information and available documents.
We agree the scope of review, information required, expected deliverables and schedule.
We assess the documentation and proposed options, following up technical queries with the project team or manufacturer.
We provide findings, recommendations and outstanding items to support decisions and the next stage of the project.
To begin the review, send a description of your requirements and any available documents, such as datasheets, item lists, drawings, catalogues or equipment nameplate photographs.
If the specifications are not yet complete, describe the application, operating conditions and project timeframe so that we can identify the information needed for the next stage of review.
